I really wanted to go to the Cymru X evening event tonight in Cardiff, but I’ve had so much to prepare for Conference (and still haven’t finished.) that I couldn’t go;-(
I’ve just been finalising my speech. I’m privileged to be doing a keynote speech before lunch on Saturday! I’m quite nervous, and I’m not usually nervous doing public speaking, but I guess that I want to perform well, and to show that us young politicians have a lot to offer! It’s a youth centred conference anyway, not that the use of twitter, facebook, videos is exclusively ‘young’, but I’m looking forward to the new, edgy Plaid Conference with lots of interaction via the Internet, and plenty of people live blogging and so on…
The first thing I’m doing is the Blogging for Change fringe meeting tomorrow after lunch. Iain Dale, Heledd Fychan, Huw Thomas, Dyfrig Jones and John Dixon will be taking part. Quite a big panel, so I will have to be strict. I hope someone is filming it so I can put it up on my blog, because however talented you think I am, I won’t be able to chair it and live blog it at the same time.
I’m really looking forward to hearing my friend Aileen Campbell SNP MSP speak at Conference. She is our guest speaker this year on behalf of the SNP, and she is a real inspiration for young Scottish people to get involved in politics. We met a while ago on an Inter Isles Forum, a scheme for youth movements of political parties which has sadly ended, and we have kept in touch since then regarding campaigns and policy work- notwithstanding social events;-)
Right, I’m off to prepare the fringe meeting I’m chairing with Rathbone Cymru before watching Dragon’s Eye….
