Transatlantic Network

I didn’t even make Swansea’s Freshers Fayre, and I managed to get the flu this week! Typical. I am trying to take as many lemsips as possible so that I am ready and fresh for Transatlantic Network 2020’s week in Belfast, Wicklow and Dublin- starting on Sunday.

The week looks very exciting indeed. I am in a group that will be spending two days completing community arts projects with local women and young people in areas of North Belfast. My mother grew up on the falls road, so it shall be interesting to return in this context.

We will then be spending time in Wicklow, with workshops led by the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation, followed by a few final days in Dublin where we will meet Irish President, Mary McAleese at none other than a Guiness Storehouse.

There will be 100 of us young leaders from all over North America and Europe taking part. To say I’m intimidated after reading some of their biographies is an understatement.Nevertheless, it will give us the chance to work together, and to create lasting links.

I will update you on the week’s progress here when I have time…
